I contacted Mike Barbee on Facebook about from where one could buy either a kit or parts of it but he never replied. He is part of a group on Facebook - National Association of Scale Aeromodelers

As Sparky highlighted the cowl of the Bonanza and the T-34 are practically identical. The cowl tapers off to the front so the best type of engine would be a 4-cylinder engine. I believe Mike Barbee's engine on his T-34 plane has, I believe, a 222cc four cylinder engine. Most four cylinder type of engines drop fit inside the cowl. However, there is always the dreaded cooling and baffling problem. I believe it is a must on such planes.
Here are a few shots of the cowl I made. My intention is to have open cowl hoods and that is why you see the large openings on the cowls. Meanwhile I am also enclosing a photo of hood placed against the. The hood still needs trimming and fitting out. I could make it separate or a one-piece thing

Clicking the email I posted a launch to will typically get you a reply. The weather tomorrow is going to be in the can so he may be in out of the weather. You can go to the NASA facebook page as well.

You may need to put the link address in an outbound email...then delete all but Mike's address.

Before you go looking for the 1/4 scale "kit" you should be made aware of Mark's design is a fiberglass fuselage, cowl, with a foam wing, and vacuum formed corrugated Styrene. This is not a built up wood kit with fiberglass cowl. Retracts for Mark's design came from Robart. The canopy is still available from Ziroli. The cowl in its T-34 form appears to no longer be available, however Reuben's (Sabre) glass cowl would work well.

Fortunately there are multiple CAD T-34's to provide all anyone would need to do a built-up T-34.

Hi Ed,
Are you sure that Ziroli is selling the T-34 canopies? I did make a search but nothing resulted. I did make my own canopy mold but as yet I have not extracted any yet.
