Hi all. New to the forum. Unfortunately I am not a builder/flyer, I crash too often. I admit my reason for being here is to liquidate my dads collection of engines and planes. He was a hobby collector and sometime machinist, and had gathered a number of engines and planes over the years. For example, a NIB never run FR5-300, NIB Saito FA90R3, a couple of larger planes (72” J-3, 70” biplane), and assorted parts. I have no idea if anyone has interest in Morton M-5’s but I found what looks like parts for two or three of them along with multiple additional parts (rods, pistons, cylinders, etc.)

Before I post anything, I wanted to be on the level, and make sure I follow the rules.

Birt

Birt,

Welcome to this site. I believe that you’ve done the right thing & posted upfront your true reasons. It shouldn’t take too long before other members will respond & wish to contact you. I’m sure you’ve also posted on other modeling sites as well, & that’s to be expected.

Perhaps a more detailed list will elicit a more expeditious response.

Good luck,

Skye

Thank you for the welcome, and the tips.  I actually like RC, I simply can't seem to keep up/down/left/right in mind and end up striking the "edges" when flying.

For the detailed list, would photos be the best method for that?  I really do not want to spam the forum, so perhaps an overall photo and folks can ask for details separately?

Birt (at least that’s how I saw your name),

Since you’re not a paying member of this site, you’re limited to just five posts. I’d suggest you maximize your exposure as much as possible, photos and all. The more the merrier. This is only my humble opinion & it’s really up to the Administrator to approve but I don’t see any potential issues.

However, I don’t know if you can post photos at all since you’re (again) a non-paying member. Doesn’t hurt to give it a try. Only suggest you also offer your email address as PMs (Personal Messages) are generally for paying members only. By offering your email you at least have a reasonably good chance of some response long after your five posts have been expired. Of course, putting out a personal email opens you up to potential privacy issues. For that, you may wish to create a separate email account strictly for this purpose of exchanging info on the collection.

The alternative of course us to join this site for a mere twenty bucks for the whole year. You might actually enjoy the site & even (dare I say) be motivated to “give it a go.”

For further information you may contact the Administrator Mike Chilson. He’s really a great guy & all around enthusiast.

Hope this all helps.

I'm sure Admin will be along soon to explain it all.  Or I could confuse you! :)

In the meantime, There are some engines I'd be interested in from a collectors point of view.

If indeed you have one or more Mortons, you need to sort through them and know exactly what you have.  The M-5 came in a variety of versions from fully assembled to rough castings ready for finishing.  Value will vary depending which you have.

Glad to have App add to the confusion...

He's absolutely correct though.

You might wish to PM him on his last post for further details.
