NEW Question..... it has come up that we may want to have a scale plane only event. What I mean is every thing must be a representation of a full scale air plane so no sport jets or ugly sticks. We really dont want the 3d stuff either.... warbirds and classics does that for us but would limit nice scale stuff too which we dont want to do... also we would like to keep the 60/80 rule...

So we are in search of a PC way of advertising this and are requesting help from the masters here.

That's simple, advertise an AMA Scale Contest and you are home free...plus you get free advertising
online and in print for months Welcome newbees with lots of telling what Fun Scale is and conduct
flight maneuver training if people want to participate in it either in pre-registration or day of the event...
but focus on it more than the actual scale contest...

This has become the "standard" by which all scale contests are conducted for the last 10 years.
You WILL NOT have a protected draw region from the AMA for a Class C event. Protect your investment
in time, money and energy to conduct this...conduct an AMA Scale Event...its easy.

Nope no judged completion. Must be a fun fly event. We don’t want the cost of potatoes to dictate trophies.

Take the time to read the Fun Scale event rules before you go off and declare you don't want competition.
The event can be conducted "any way you want" under any "single class". It can be "Fun Scale" period

You'll still get the protection you want...without having to run all three rings of your circus. Don't be afraid
that someone might learn something while enjoying the company of their fellow scale enthusiast.

This is how Frankie runs his Top Gun Show. This honey has certainly drawn a lot scale new"bees
at Top Gun.

Mark,

No need to be PC just set the requirements for the fly-in and do it. That is what the rest of the community does.

Regards,
Mike

Probably right Mije thanks.

Ed. The closest scale anything to us is top gun. That’s a 5 hour drive. I know you mean well and are a contest enthusiast. Simply put I competed in iMac for a few years and such and have no interest in judged anything. Also we have no real support cast in our club other than the board just the way it is. So we run fun fly relaxed events that are pilot and spectator friendly. Heck the last time I attended top gun I was there for one hour and was bored to tears. Thus way we all have fun with s minim amount of people needed. It works for us.

Not beating a dead horse. Simply saying you get the event protection you want
with a simple to "throw together" event. The viewers can appreciate the event
with a simple tri-folded handout...explaining what's going on here...
