Hello and thanks for having me! My name is Brett and I've been building and flying airplanes since the Jetco days.Lately just smaller aerobatic stuff but I am very interested in tackling a large scale project.
Been seriously thinking about the BUSA Ercoupe so I've been lurking some of the build topics particularly the Ercoupe ones.
Amazing craftsmanship! anyways, thanks again.

Hi Brett, to cut to the chase here, I would not start with the Ercoupe. It's is kind of a complicated build. Steve Ort here on RCSB makes his Ercoupe build look easy, but it's not easy! Steve is just a great builder. Most of BUSA's kits are biplanes and are fairly straight forward to build, if you love biplanes. There are a fair amount of kits of warbirds out there such as Ziroli, Bates, and others. Ziroli's can be tricky on your first build, but they are proven designs that fly well. And most of them are Giant Scale. Giant scale's are kinda pricey to tackle these days and can end up $2K or more. So, it depends on how deep your pockets are! And of course, if you hit any snags on any build, you can get help right here on RCSB! Good luck. Lane in Fort Worth.

Appreciate it Lane. Actually Ziroli was my first choice, not quite as big. Which ever direction I decide to go I'm gonna take my time, I just need to keep myself busy with a nice time consumer. I'm sure I'll be asking plenty of questions.

Brett, one more thing. Be sure that what ever model you build will FIT in you car, truck, or van! Haha. I have had several models in 1/3 Scale that I can only transport in my 1977 Chevy 8 foot bed pickup! My usual carry-truck is my 2004 Siverado with 6 foot bed and camper shell. Lane

Ha, indeed! I use my trusty F250 to haul my planes around. I'll be in the market for a trailer if I go too big. Thanks for the heads up.
