As my user name indicates, my name is Jens Tornblad and I live in Ölme, Sweden on a homestead in the middle of the forest. For a living I run an engineering company specialized in equipment for naval ships and machinery safety in general.

When did it all start then? I built my first model at the age of five back in 1970 together with my dad. It was not until 7th grade I came in contact with RC. From the very beginning I was hooked on the scale models. As for many people, there is a break in the hobby but i've been more on and off, keeping up the gliders with among others a 1:5 scale DFS Olympia and a large scale Caravelle airliner for the slopes. About ten years ago I ran out of momentum in my hobby due to a growing family, loss of airfield and very extensive work travel.

What about now then? The children have grown up and my business doesn't need all my time awake any longer but more normal hours. I took the plunge last autumn and started over again with a brand new state of the art radio kit. i also picked up old threads in form of a Flair Bristol Fighter which is going to be electric. (I've had the kit since 2005...) I've done some designs of my own in the past which have worked out well and that is a path I intend to continue. I'm gathering documentation for a Northrop N3PB which I've always been fond of. As soon as the travel restrictions are lifted I will go to the Norwegian Air Force museum which is only three hours drive away from where I live. The sole survivor is displayed there.

/Jens

Hi and welcome, Jens.  It sounds as if you have a wealth of experience.

To get the most out of the site please take a look at the Site Supporters program.  Also take a look at the FAQs.  As far as FAQs go, these are the best I have encountered LOL!  About halfway down the page picture posting is explained.

Welcome again

Jens,
Welcome to this site. I agree with Jeff & Tony, please take just a few moments to join. FAQ will guide you into enrolling (FAQ stands for Frequently Asked Questions). By joining, it opens up many opportunities & avenues not possible where you stand now.

Sounds like you have a wealth of experience & knowledge to share with us.   I also applaud you for taking the unusual or rarely modeled route to do a Northrop N3PB. This is a very interesting aircraft & one we, here at the States, don’t see up close.

Welcome!

Gary

Welcome to the site. It looks like the Northrop N3PB will need a pond to fly from.
