Thanks for going to the trouble of showing some original build pics. Wing attachment very instructive for this and a few other designs that present a similar challenge.

Pdub

I will try and find a pic or two of the actual connection between wing and cabane. The various model plans that I studied had no real help for me as they of course did not have to cater for the stresses across the top cabin and the actual seating points of the wing/chrome moly cabane. The plans, especially the good ones ... Taylor and Mizer ... were pretty good and therefore helpful wrt scale outline.

Also the massive undercart was a total make up on my part.

The rain ceased to give us a cool grey day.

Painting was done. Not my best work but it will do.

The uglu service holes for the axels were to be covered up with litho discs as before. They are easy to flick off when we need an open port hole.

The big punch soon had me 4 litho cover discs ready to glue prior to painting.

This shot brought to mind Henry Ford's comments when asked what colour the Model T came out in. He replied "any colour you like as long as it is black" ! Soe Lysanders are a bit like that.

The "F111 repair" came out well with the Araldite over night. Solid as ...

Well, the big black beauty is almost back to her pristine best ... or at least the fuselage and cowl are.

Now it is on to the wings and struts ...

It's time for tea.

Later, Lurkers.

The making of the cowl ...

The final shape of the exhaust outlet was changed to mirror the real deal; a more pointy end was fashioned.

Hi Ken,
Congratulations on a magic model.
Is there a three blade prop available in the size you would need to make it perfect?
Cheers
Stan

Hi Stan,

Thanks for dropping in.

Yes, I have a three blade fixed pitch carbon prop but at 32 x 14 the three blade is a bit much for the Moki 215.
I have a Soloprop 3 blade hub but not the conversion Soloprop kit for the Moki as it runs on a G74.

This three blade prop is a static prop only for static judging at contests.

When in flight with the two blade all you see is a yellow disc of tips. So ... I will live with that. I suppose that I could get the hub for a three blade for my Varioprop. This would be a bit exxy at the moment with our pathetic Oz dollar.

Cheers, Stan

Ken

Good Day Ken,
I have been running the Fiala 30 - 19 three bade on my 250's, they perform very well, I believe they also have a prop that may work well on the 215 may be worth looking into if you wish.
She is a Handsome Lady Ken, won't go so far as to say beautiful but still has a certain appeal.......
Stay well

Thanks for the info and kind offer, Roy but I am not in the market for one at this juncture as the costs would be prohibitive.

Just before the terrible Convid 19 pandemic I attempted to get a simple two blade Fiala for the agents in Europe. A wood 38 x 18 for my Moki 400 was quoted as at 180 UAD with postage of 240 Aud ! That over 400 bucks for one prop. I dread to think what a three blade 30 x 19 or such would cost now. Thanks, but no thanks, Buddy.

I hope you guys in Canada are doing OK with this ****ed Corona virus. The projected figures for deaths in the States is horrific. It is now at up to 240,000 deaths. That is worse than China or Italy !

Take care, hunker down. In Tasmania we have completely cut the world off and have severe home self isolation laws now.

Cheers
Ken
