I converted my LT-40 over to electric a few years ago.  It now flies with an Eflite 45 which is plenty of power for regular flight and just enough for float flying on Utah Lake.  I only bring the plane out for Egg Drop events and Float Flying now but it's always a joy to fly.  If you just have to dive headlong into learning to fly on that Mustang or Corsair of your dreams, I suggest that you bring a trash bag.

You don't learn to drive in a Ferrari.  Well, maybe if you are Italian . . . 

Motor size:  Look up density altitude.  Talk to anyone who flies in Denver.

Thanks to you all for your welcome and advise. I read a lot over the weekend and learned that Ferrari's might not be the best place to start. I went a bought an E-Flite Apprentice S and got my feet wet, so to speak. I'm so glad I became a member of this group and look forward to my first build. With that said I think I've covered the introductions and will place further posts in the thread they are applicable to.

Thanks again to those that welcomed me and I hope to hear from you all in the future!
