I started building models in 1958 at the tender age of 8. Most of the early attempts were failures, but with persistence, it led to (much) later success in several BMFA and RAFMAA Scale competitions. I've never given up on the hobby and am still designing, building, flying and writing about models. My main interest is in small scale aircraft both free flight and more recently RC, but over the years I've tried most aeromodelling disciplines.
My other hobbies include learning how to draw and paint in watercolour, murdering folk music on a mandolin, playing Badminton and writing.

Unfortunately after 20 years as a Collection pilot, 13 of them as Boss, I was sacked from Old Warden in 2009. I still don't know why - best we don't go there in this Forum
