Hi, my name is Willem I live in Gauteng South Africa.

I bought myself a Alpha trainer and joined a rc club about two years ago, at about the same time I also bought a half build TopFlight Cessna 182 kit that was damaged and later realized that it was not worth fixing. I had to replace a lot of the parts and decided to trace all the parts and re-scale the parts and plan to a ΒΌ scale, cut all the parts with my CNC milling machine and started building about a year ago.

While researching a few things on the Cessna I came across RCSB and knew I had to join all the talented builders on this sight. I know that I will learn a lot from  you guys.

Cheers

Willem

Maybe not the right place but a few pic's of what I did so far.

Wow, I like what I am seeing.

It looks like your build will be interesting to watch, As common as the Cessna planes are in full scale I seldom see anyone building or flying a nice kit built model of one around here. Hopefully we can get you building WW1 models next !  hahahah

 Thats my weakness lately...

Hi Willem - welcome to RCSB.

That is quite an ambitious project but it sure looks like you have it well in hand!

Thanks.

Have to start somewhere and work my way back to a WW1 plane, the next plane in line is a P47-razorback and let's see what follows? maybe a WW1 plane

I will have to get my pictures of the last year's build together and will start the build thread as soon as possible.

You lucky guys with a milling machine in your shop, let alone a CNC one, it's the best of two worlds in RC building the second one is knowing how to use it and you obviously do. Ulema it is apparent that you have the other skills to build scale planes, it shows up in your clean joinery which says you are articulate in your construction and says a lot about you.

It's nice to see new members joining RCSB, I'm one of them, we all bring new ideas and methods to the benefit of others, it also shows there is much to learn from those who have been at it longer than many of us.

You will do well with much company.

Leroy
