Went to the scale meet this morning, even though it was raining early on. But, it stopped, was still overcast, and the entrants flew. Took a few pics. But I really went to get a burger, two of them, to be correct. Jim K cooks them great and he buys the makings the same morning of the meets.

Pilot's meeting. Good turnout. Didn't get any breakdown of the out-of-towners, but there were a few. A good day to fly, despite the rain earlier. Only crash was flying the USA Flag before the meet began. Engine quit and the flag brought it right down after takeoff. Don't have any meet results. Will post them when I get them.

Paul Lang with his Cub has just flown. He brought two mounts. That Stork is his too.

Judge's tent. Two pilots can fly at the same time.

Greater Southwest Aeromodelers Of Fort Worth's contest format is based on the premise of a scale flying school. Newbees are impacted with less intimidation though in the end they end up competing with their own flying skill and documentation. Seems to be working quite well because head count of entries is greater compared to a traditional scale contest format.

This contest was the Texas Scale Championship, hosted by Lawrence Harville, D-VIII V.P. and Tim Lovett. The Dallas/Fort Worth NASA contests have moved from field to field, paved to now grass, and is the oldest & largest scale contest in District VIII, originating with Ernie Harwood.
