Fantastic!   I am 2 years into building this very kit.  Well, 2 years since I started.  It's been interrupted several times by other things.  This will motivate me to get back to it!

Maybe I should get someone to finish it for me .... interested?  lol

John,

Thank you for checking in.

This was my second scale build after kicking the ARF addiction. The first one was just to see if building was still enjoyable. The Fly Baby I posted on RCGroups (link); I was still too intimidated by the levels of sophistication, commitment, and expertise here.

I still marvel at the RCSB contributions and learn at least one new thing every day. But I've since gotten over my reticence and post occasionally.

Good luck with completing your Fly Baby. I can't rave enough about how well this model flies. And it has true presence in the sky.

Take care,

Bren

My feeling on the levels of scale are sort of like this. I am an advanced fun scale guy, some of the people on here are absolute artists, and mechanical genius's. I think anyone easing in to be a top builder will probably feel more comfortable fitting in the middle of that range and be encouraged to take it further when they see the tiers, or steps in skills.

The amount of builders is pretty stagnant in our club, but it has more than most clubs. There has been a rise in the quality of the builds from people learning a technique here and there from others.. and not just feeling like it has to be competition ready on your first time building a scale plane.

I personally think as long as we have people enjoying building anything,we have hope for some top notch planes being finished as well.
