Greg (glma3) assisted me yesterday as I re-maidened a Dynaflite quarter-scale Fly Baby. We had done a test flight about two years ago before scale details were added, the heaviest of which were a Top Notch dummy Continental engine and its G10 support system. They added a little over a half pound ahead of the CG. We re-balanced the Fly Baby on Greg's Xicoy apparatus last week and waited for a gentle day.
That was yesterday. This would be the pilot's first flight, since the original maiden had been performed in his absence. Above, you can see him hesitating before reaching for the ignition switch.
Here's a semi-close-up of that marvelous Top Notch engine. Yes, the pilot was rolling his eyes after realizing who would be twitching the transmitter sticks.
The Fly Baby flew and survived two of my (in)famous landings.
Thank you, Greg, as always for your help setting up and spotting.
