I read some where that the Byron line was purchased from Iron Bay and this person was going to re release in some form a few of the kits. Anyone know anything about this? Cant remember for the life of me where I read this and if it were true. Inquiring minds (and a small one at that) need to know.

If Iron Bay couldn't or wouldn't make it work out I wonder if anyone could . The old Byron equiptment,  molds , etc.. are antiques by now , would it be salvageable ? Don't get me wrong I would love to see a Byron revival but at this point I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.

If the molds were taken care of they should be fine. Byron more then likely had the molds made out of only the best materials available at the time. I don't think you will ever see the whole (complete kit concept) back again but if at least they would make the main fiberglass components available and a little cad work to replace the foam with wood it should be doable. Iron Bay also has the molds to the Custom RC Aircraft line AKA George Millers kits which I also wish they would sell. These kits are perfect for the 120 size fans. I really dont understand why they would purchase these and sit on them for all these years and never tried to recoup their investment.

My guess is that Iron Bay discovered that there was more to the project than met their eyes.  I seem to recall that they did sell some stuff? But not a lot of it.  The inventory has mostly languished for a number of years. Probably never going to see a come back of the old Byron kits.

I searched the Internet a few years ago looking for iron bay and the T28
The only thing I found were bad things posted by modelers some claimed they lost their money one said he sent his sach,s in for repair and never saw it again
So beware and do your research
It looks like he would have sold the molds if the project was too much instead of them languishing somewhere

The last excuses that I received from Iron Bay ,which was years ago , was that some of the molds were needing to be reworked and the Byrofoam processor needed parts . I was lead to believe that the foam wings were processed in some type of  high pressure autoclave and it frequently broke down. I suspect the priority at Iron  Bay was more aligned with the UAV  side of their business and the much less profitable modeling part became an impediment to the flourishing AUV market .
