After several false starts, finally managed to get my Tiger Moth maidened today.  The kit was built by another club member (Bill) who gave it to me after he realized he would never fly it, and that it wouldn't fit in his new vehicle .  He was going to put a Laser 150 in it, but I opted for an RCGF 35cc engine instead.  It required moving the firewall, but was worth it.  The engine is perfect for this plane.  And no extra weight was required to balance!

It wanted to roll to the left pretty severely at first, but once tamed it was ok.  Why did it roll left so bad?  I suspect it was because after the initial engine start last fall, several of the soldered ends of the flying wires failed.  I decided to replace the flying wires with BUSA rigging.  I'm quite sure that I unknowingly introduced warps into the wings.  My plan is to get out the robart incidence meters and see if I can figure out what is going on, then perhaps adjust the wires if/as necessary.  If anyone has a method for doing this, I'd love to hear about it.

In any case here are some pics from today:

Finally, one of Bill (on the left) and myself.

Here is a LINKY to the video.

John Beech, if you see this, I can now (finally) give you the review I promised you for the mini servos .

Regards,
   Greg

Thanks Matt!  Bill did a great job building it.  I'm just glad I didn't thump it while landing in the cross wind!
