Just a quick introduction about myself:
I've been building kits since 2005 and have been fascinated by WW2 warbirds all my life. I've built Midwest, TF, Royal and Pica kits (all warbirds). ARF's are ok, just not my style. Nothing tops building a kit and watching it fly.
I'm a Chicago Police Officer and live in the city.
I took this as the Blue Angels flew over my city,

OK, I'll refrain from any jokes. :) My wife was born in Chicago and the bulk of her family still lives in Antioch. My Brother in Law is a retired Lake County Dep Sheriff and I get to hear about the politics from him. We visit there from time to time. While I'm not overly fond of Chicago I can't brag living 70 miles from Detroit. But I have seen worse than both cities.
But welcome to the site anyway. Lots of good knowledge here just waiting to be tapped. No question is a stupid one either. These guys have the decency to laugh privately to themselves. :)

I'm very familiar with Great Lakes Naval Academy. I trained with the FBI for 2 weeks in partnership with CPD in Great Lakes about two years ago. You can hear the cannons go off while we were outside in the firing range. It was very close to us!
