Hi abufletcher, thank you for commenting. Flying sailplanes is very magical! I find it more rewarding and challenging than powered models. Unless someone actually flies a sailplane (full scale or model) they won't understand. For the 'price' of a 30 second tow I have flown ~2 hours when conditions are good! Sometimes only 6 minutes. I covered this model and most of the other ones with Sig Koverall using Stix-It. After sealing with nitrate dope polyurethane varnish was applied. I use silk and dope on tail feathers at times, too. The wood covering is pre-stained 1/64" ply then varnished.
