Wowsers, that's not cheap.

I had the pleasure of seeing this model fly at my old club and it left a mark on anyone who saw it. Pete was always the most approachable guy you could meet and easy to talk to. I even saw his 1/10th free flight version and that was just as good.

Third to that, plus tried to open the link & was told by my server that the page was not found. Anyone help here? Price-wise?

Oh wait. Do I have to subscribe to this auction?

Ouch. Still, for the years (not weeks or months) he put his life into researching & building it, when you factor anyone’s hourly/weekly/monthly pay plus materials (servos, receivers, batteries, engine, covering, riggings, etc.) I’m sure for such a work of art that’s proven (& acknowledged) a winner, it’s value is within reason. I purposely used the words “work of art” because in my opinion, for decades our field of modeling has always been (severely) undervalued & it’s about time our efforts be recognized.

I’ve seen it time & again that an unopened kit ends up in a swap meet having more value than an expertly handcrafted result, that also including the materials I mentioned previously.

If a musician (or most likely) a rock star can make millions from just devoting minutes to composing a song, or a painter throwing paint (literally) against the canvass & commanding $$$, then there’s no reason the value of work & one’s life into such a model should go under appreciated.

He’s’ my two scents.

The sale of this model has been bandied around for some time and I understand it was not McDermott selling it
I remember reading he had an accident, hand/propeller interaction and since then, no news of any sort.  I wonder if he's still modelling.
