Ready to test fly finally! A little Aeronca C-3 stick & tissue kit by Dumas. It has been 40+ years since I have done any stick & tissue builds and it came out a little rough around the edges but it was a blast to build. This is the 30" rubber powered kit and I purchased a Chinese foam Cessna ARF and cut it apart to use the radio stuff.
The covering is tissue & clear dope, just like in the good old days. The big difference is the fantastic laser cut parts and Zap glue, man that makes building go fast compared to back then. Weight comes in at 88g.

And the IAR drawings underneath?  What is that about?

As an old rubber scale builder I have a great affinity for stick and tissue and the little Aeronca looks superb.  Nice work as always Larry.

Looks great.  I have a Dumas PT17 I am building along side my Ziroli P47.  It is my quick fix when I need to feel an accomplishment.  lots of fun too.  I am going to keep it rubber powered though and maybe just hang it in the workroom.

Hey Chad,
I am starting on a 1/4 scale IAR 80, doing it like the 109E I just finished. It will be glass fuse & foam wings, nothing new or different in the construction phase.

Thank you both for the compliments, it has been many years since I tried stick & tissue stuff, but it sure is a fun break from the bigger stuff like Michael said!

Nice Aeronca! I did this one a couple of years ago, Laird Super solution from the Dumas 24" rubber powered kit, i fly it with ailerons and elevator and it is covered with So-lite, some ultra thin version of Solarfilm. Radio gear is 5g servos, micro 35mhz reciver and AXI 2203/52 outrunner (wich is in a indoor foamie for the winter) and a 2S 400mah Lipo.
Weight is 116g and it flies great, good luck with yours.
