Congrats Forest on a great looking and flying Albi. That first landing was a keeper. The second one too.

Beautiful job Forest! Hopefully I'll get to see it in person at this springs Sod Busters Fun Fly.

Now you can get back to the 109G, right?

Scalenut, I have several friends that love this kit..
How does it stack up against the other Balsa USA WW1 birds?   Does it stand out or fly better or maybe marginal? I haven't heard any comparisons from people yet. I hope it flies like the D7 .... because to me thats about as nice as any WW1 is going to fly.

I wouldn't be the best for answering that question.  I have never flown any of the other BUSA kits but I can say that so far the Albatros seems straight forward and docile.  I am learning with each flight what the prop drive is capable of and I think there is more vertical in her than I have nibbled at so far.  If that is the case then I would highly recommend this combination to anyone that likes the Albatros.  Control response is positive but not sensitive.  She is very stable and easy to fly.  I am on the heavy side at 48 lbs so compared to Dick Pettit's at 34 lbs I am sure there is a world of difference in how they fly.  He has the straight drive DLE 85 in his.
