I.m new to scale building but not new to RC flying. I was very active many years ago and flew sport war planes and even pattern planes. One fine winter someone decided that they wanted my planes more than me and stole everything I had from my storage shed. They even put the broken lock back so it looked locked . I didn't go out and replace anything, I had a family so I couldn't afford to replace most so I let life get in the way of the sport.  I am now retired/disabled so I have time to get back into flying now. I bought an FMS P-51 and a slow trainer in electric and had fun last summer. I am not liking the electric rout for most of my flying so I am building a Top Flight 1/7 P-51. It isn't going to be as in depth as I see is being done here but if it goes well I will do the larger scale and try my had at the finer details.  Back in the day I took my planes to Syracuse state fair grounds show for RC planes and took 2 seconds and 1 3rd place best in show for my planes.  I was in the automotive body repair field so painting was no problem.   I look forward to reading what everyone is building here.

Jim

Welcome to RCSB Jim and welcome back to the hobby.  If scale is where your interest lies then you have found the right place.  I hope you will consider becoming a full member of RCSB and sharing your Mustang build with the group.  You won't find a better bunch of guys anywhere.

Welcome aboard Jim, plus 1 with what Chad said! It's the best $20.00 you can spend if you have an interest in building and flying scale stuff.

My father was born in Syracuse, and my grandfather was the Forman of a big steel mill somewhere up in that area.

Happy New Years!
