After 11 months from drawing board to runway, it flies! I still have a couple of months of detail stuff to do (cockpit interior, strut cuffs, a pilot, more weathering ect...) before it's really finished so my Top Gun dead line didn't make it, oh well there's always next year. It's built to 1/4 scale from my own plans, weighs 25lbs, and is powered with the big OS BGX glow engine. So far the first two flights have proven completely uneventful, I'm glad I went with plenty of control surface throw as it's not as responsive as I thought was going to be. It's turning out to be a big lazy plane in the air.

Really nice work on an unusual subject!   It looks great in the air too!

Strut cuffs. Now there's a subject worth covering. Original was leather? Difficult, can't wait to see what you do, Dave

Thanks for all the compliments! Lets see if I can answer questions, if the weather is going to be good I may go to WOD (it always seems to rain on Saturday when I go), And the strut cuffs were metal on the Fiat, I'm still not sure how to tackle the cuffs. Make them out of metal, fiberglass, vacu-form? or conveniently forget about them and go on to the next project!
