Hello everyone, I thought I would post a few pictures of the Sea Fury I built over the last 3 winters and finally test flew it a couple of weeks ago. Vailley short kit from kit cutters, cowl, windshield, and plans from Roy Vallincourt, retracts from Sierra giant, lots of balsa for sheeting and glue etc. Lots of labour in sanding and glassing wings and fuse. Moki 215 for power, painted in auto base coat clear coat to resemble Bad Attitude Reno racer. Came in at approx 48 pounds. I was pretty nervous on the first test flight as I did not want to bring it home with any damage to repair, but it took off very nice with gradual throttle and a little right rudder and got up to a comfortable level. It needed about 3 or 4 clicks of right aileron and 2 clicks of up elevator and it was cruising along very nice. I did not take it to full throttle as I made about 7-8 circuits and wanted to do a few low passes to line up for a landing. There was a bout a 20 km breeze on final and it came in on 1/4 throttle with a nice sink rate, no flaps and I greased it. Very happy with the way things went. It's winter here now so in the spring I will get more time on it and see how things go with the gear tucked up and play with the flaps on landing.
I am doing this on my IPad and can't seem to load any pictures. Is there a trick to this?

Pat, basic members cannot post pictures one has to be at least a Site Supporter. Well worth the $20 I think, most on this site would agree.

The Sea Fury sounds great and you have something really nice to look forward to.
