I got an Jerry Bates Fokker D.XXI partially built. It was started by Jim Wilkinson who gave it to Jerry who gave it to Mike Chilson who gave it to me so I would have something to fly with when I'm here in the USA.

I actually started working on the model last year, but i reached this far then. This is how it looked like September 13 this year.

I have powered the model with a Skyshark 300 Lightning and a 80 Amp ESC. The batteries are 2x 5 cells packs 5000mAh.

During the work and run into some minor problems. One was the canopy, but I made one by building it part by part...

...and the frame.

The time to get this project ready for the Ralley of Eagles was very limited since I wanted to have it ready for the Ralley of Eagles. This picture was taken by Mike at 2 in the morning on the day we went to the Ralley!

But here she is...three weeks after my arrivale to Mike's place. The total weight of the model including the batteries was 20lbs or 9kg.

Dino maidened it for me and all my doubts that it would be a handful to fly since it has a fairly short nose and long fuselage disappeared. It flies really great, almost like a trainer.  I would say that this is the perfect model for one who want to build his first scale model of a Warbird.

The longest one of the flights we made was about 7 minutes. When I recharged the batteries I filled them up with about 2800 mAh. So I would say it's safe to fly that time and then start thinking of prepare for landing.

It must also be said that during that time we made a couple of high speed passes and some manouvering.
