I always wondered how easy that white plane was to spot by the allies compared to other paint schemes.

Dan, Goring's DVII was painted at the factory. Now, whether he declared it be all white or the Fokker folks just went with it, it's hard for me to say. But Hermann was The Ringmaster of the Flying Circus and liked to show off a bit. His previous DVII's were Red & White. He pretty much had it made by then and already had his Pour le Merite/Blue Max so he was show boating it and likely was not itching for any fights. Or if anyone has any better info on El Jefe Hermann, let us hear it. Lane
