I know RCSB is mostly large scale planes, but I heard that there is a sub-forum for small scale planes, which is what I'm interested in: mostly hand launched, roughly 1 meter wingspan or smaller planes, like the so called 1/12th scale planes. I'd appreciate tips to finding these guys.

Are you talking about RC models? Free-flight? Indoor? Small electric?
Not too much of that on RCSB. You'll find more of that on RC Groups, which is another very fine forum. Several outstanding scale modelers, like Hammerd, who is building a "real as it gets" 1/3 scale Fokker DVII here on RCSB, for years built outstanding "smaller scale" masterpieces on the RC Groups forum. That's where I first became aware of his fine work. My build of a 53" wingspan SE5a is on RC Groups. I have a build (currently on hold) of a 1/8 scale Phoenix CI (similar wingspan) here on RCSB. It in the scratch builds sub-forum.
Still, you're entirely welcome to post about small or large, electric or gas RC models here on RCSB. I see you are already a site supporter.

Hi Jay,
Thank you for posting an introduction and welcome to RCSB. There is no size limit on the models people build here (large or small). However, as Abu mentioned a lot of them are larger models. We do have some smaller model scatted around the forums in various models. We don't really arrange the builds by size, but my designer, kit manufacturer, or scratch-builds. Unfortunately you might need to pick a forum and just take a look though it.
Thank you for your support! Mike

Hi Don! Yes, I'm talking about small electric RC scale models. Let me show you a couple of pictures from my club's annual air show last June of a model I built over the last winter:
The first time I built this kit was in 2013. I thoroughly documented everything from the kit, including scanning in the laser cut balsa sheets, as this kit had no printed plans or patterns for replacement parts. I later used those images to build a laser cut file. Last fall I gave Corey, a member of our club who has a laser cutter, a copy of my laser cut file, and he made a new kit for me to build a second Electric Commander, as I lost my first one quite a while back.

Very cool model! I've never done electric myself, but have always said if I were ever to model a twin it would have to be electric.
