There is a base coat of black applied to an absolutely "perfect" surface. There is even a rattle can version of this chemistry. Most modelers are not willing to put in the time and energy to achieve the level of perfect surface preparation required... especially an energetic 12 year old. He is exceptional!

I think this may be what they were using, or something very similar.  This product is called Fusion Firm Liquid Chrome.  There are YT videos of modelers using it with a spray gun.

The flying wrapped up this afternoon with about the same winds as yesterday and overcast skies.  The top 6 in each class flew to determine the winner, and they definitely showed why they were the top 6.

Here's the scores for the RC classes, I have lots of pics but no time to post them before awards and the banquet.

In F4H Reto Senn has won again with his Vampire

And in C it was Current Champ David Law against former Champ Marc Levy.  It was definitely a battle to the end, David flew first and turned in the round's high flight score.  Then Marc flew and turned in an even better score.  Marc has won both static and flight, as you can see at this level the plane has to static very high and be able to turn in top flight scores.

That's it for now, it may be a week or so until I'm back with lots of pics.

Ben
