Starting with some logistics updates from our undercover Agents scouring the field - it appears crate reception is well underway.

I look forward to seeing continued pictures of the event.

Going from airplane parts in a crate to a flying plane takes a surprisingly long time, made more so by all the goings on around you and the tight quarters.  Despite the ENORMOUS marquee that the BMFA erected for this, the similarly enormous turnout means that we're pretty well packed in.  But that's not a complaint, seeing this many people turn up for a comp is really great.

But I spent the little time I had yesterday unpacking and assembling along with most of today.  So I didn't get many pictures except a few from the flight line when I was in line for a practice flight.  Also many of the planes are still being assembled or were in line for flying.

But I got a bit.

The entire US team, for now, my wife and daughter are coming later.

I did catch a few planes out in line.

A very lovely Gipsy Moth, slightly smaller than 1/3rd scale.  Painted in Randolph dope.  Burkhard Reinsch, GER, F4C.

12 year old Konrad Lange with his CompArf Spitfire.  The shiny finish is painted on and looks really good, you can see it reflecting in his face.  He flies it really well.  GER, F4H

Argyris Giannetakis, GRE, F4C.  This is mostly the same 1/4 scale Ryan SCW he had last time but he's completely redone the wing fabric and LE sheet metal.  It looks even better than last time if that's possible.  I had to downsize the pic so it would fit in 300kb but I'll get another of his.

And mine.  It went together well and flew really well.

The opening ceremony is tomorrow afternoon and we start Friday morning.
