Gary,

As Rich said, the docs are where more contests are won...and lost, than competitors typically give them credit for. Though at this level the typical competitor's sense of research produces more than enough...but needs to "bread crumb"...lead/guide a well heeled judge to where the model is exceptional; the pot of gold, so to speak.

Typical "local contest" judge pools are not as well groomed as an FAI contest. Even the FAI judge has the same human nature elements moved by craftsmanship "difficulty", though it weighs less into the analytical due to a qualification process with a much greater qualifier beyond simple tenure.

Unless you are familiar with the "cast of competitors" reviewed in my pic posts you may not credit the previous heavy weight competitors from the also-rans. In most cases, the real winners jewels are disclosed in the "Docs"; sending judges on the competitor's bread crumb pathway... from one (1) meter away. As seen in the Morane-Saulnier M.S-230/317.

I don't mind the 5, 6 and 7 points per maneuver as long as everyone is graded on the same curve. Seeing most scale model comps here in the US start at 8 and 9’s it makes it difficult to break out the clearly superior flights.
I know its different scoring criteria  etc etc and I don't choose to start a debate here.
I $upported the team how about you?
