Thanks for sharing the photos, always like to see what magic the real masters are cooking up.  I also like that you separate prop and jet so the poor fellow who poured his heart and soul into a museum caliber J-3 doesn't have to compete against an F-16.

This is more or less the same as Frankie's Top Gun format. The principal difference being "K" factoring (weighted scoring). This tends to act as a filtering to mean out a judge's emotional response to "halo" effects of name recognition and notoriety. FAI F4 utilizes the "K" factor scoring protocol internationally.

*I welcome additional pics from spectators attending AoA. If you're interested in contributing to the RCSB coverage of AoA send me a PM and I'll provide an address to send pics to.

Another chilly start means another aggravating start... Means another morning exercise routine.

In one of the pictures above, there is a Red & White T-28.  Can anyone tell me the details on that model?  Kit? Short kit? ARF? Wingspan? Motor? Etc?  Much appreciated!

Great and very wise move, it was desperately needed!

Sorry to say there is no available pilot/plane/static, or flight score data available unless individually requested by a pilot as of 5 pm Thursday.

Just guessing...there's a good chance the pilot who owns the F9F Grumman Cougar probably owns the NAA T-28. You're better off doing a Goggle search for a radio control international orange North American Aviation T-28 Trojan. Though I found the "registered" pilot index, the plane/pilot index has never been found.

TopRC manufactures a SNARF (scale nearly almost ready-to-fly) 111" wingspan T-28 Trojan for $2,431.59. 125cc 2 stroke, radial engine UMS 150 to 180

Thanks for the reply.  I was just curious, as the one you took a pic of just looks a bit bigger.  I suppose it could be the TopRC one, that’s been given some love for scale competition.  If any details pop up, I’d love to know more!  Thanks and enjoy.

James,

I asked Jeff to confirm whether or not it is the 111" w/s TopRC NAA T-28 SNARF. Should know shortly. At 111" w/s how much larger did you think it looked? To my knowledge that's the largest commercially available T-28 out there. Its like 90% built... CA, epoxy, a screw driver and its a virtual instant SNARF. Don't forget the rattle can...

I find it interesting the Star and Bar appear on the "right wing" of this model. Apparently its an odd duckling 1:1 or its not competing in a static judged class. T-28's are '50~'58 USAF aircraft and into the '80's with USN. During WWII there were aircraft with the Star and Bar on the top of both left and right wing.
