Not sure where to post this but i am looking for some ideas where to change some pilot figure eyeglasses into sunglasses. (Mike please move this as needed)

I am not good at painting pilot eyes, the sunglasses will make the eyes not visible.

I have thought of just painting the lens a dark, perhaps black but would like a more realistic approach.

Thank you!

Maybe find some dark-colored plastic or perspex to make the glasses yourself and replace the clear glasses?

If the lenses are plastic you might want to try Rit dye like they use for canopies.

Tamiya X-19 smoke color for painting with a brush, or Tamiya TS-71 in a little rattle can.

Those are some very "period" glasses!  What aircraft is the pilot flying?  Also what scale is the model/pilot?

You are absolutely correct.
It's for a 1/3 scale BUSA Ercoupe.

If mirrored glasses interest you? maybe you can find some chrome type tape? To just lay on the outside.

I know when I painted lots of rc car bodies we would thin a color down and just spray it on the clear areas to make window tint..
