Hi all, very pleased to have a new section of the forum related to FAI F4 Scale, thanks Mike!

So, to kick off, this thread will be all about the 2026 FAI F4 World Scale Championships being hosted by the BMFA National Centre in Buckminster UK.

In July of 2026, the FAI – World Air Sports Federation F4 World Scale Championships will be taking place at BMFA Buckminster.

This shall be the first time the Championships have been hosted in the UK since 1978 at RAF Woodvale.

Graham is the Project Lead for the Championships and has coordinated the project from the start. With his experience and involvement in over 40 international competitions, he is ideally placed to understand the requirements for an event of this stature.

There will also be the opportunity for a Q&A session in which Graham will answer your questions regarding the 2026 F4 World Scale Championships.

During our first 'Road to 2026' zoom session we were excited to welcome participants from 17 countries across the globe.

Those who joined included 7 former winners of an F4 class at a World Championships!

A summary of the content and questions asked are listed as follows:

Accommodation and camping options shall be listed on the website by mid summer.

A site layout plan will be released in due course (including the size of CL circles).

Details of a dedicated contact for Border Control will be on the website in the next update.

Evening functions shall include Nation's Night and the Awards Dinner. There will be a dedicated social activities area as well as a mass build and launch free flight event.

The zoom sessions will be monthly and will include regular updates and an opportunity to ask the Organising Team any questions. We shall also feature potential participants from a different country each month.
