Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum. Been building models of various types for decades and getting more into scale warbirds.

Recently I purchased an Aerocockpit kit for the Fw190.

I was wondering if anyone has assembled one of their kits and if so, what type of adhesive

did you use to assemble the side panels and the instrument panel and install gauges, and various other parts?

One of the gauges has a hard clear glue blob behind it, so I know they didn't use cyanoacrylate (crazy glue).

Any suggestions. I', skeptical that even thick cyanoacrylate won't do very well. I think it needs something that isn't runny.

Thanks,

Experten

..........................
CA can possibly melt it if the panels are Styrene or ABS... :( Is there extra plastic to do a test? Personally I have tried to adhere using
a somewhat flexible adhesive to endure the vibrations. I am about to create my A6 cockpit tub with printed parts something much safer
than adhering Styrene or ABS.

The original movie A6 was an ABS blend (Prone to melt when HOT CA is applied). I am going to test the more flexible Gorilla Glue.

Thanks for the Reply ScaleAero,

I am going to try the Gorilla glue too.

I've been looking for UHU All Plastic adhesive as that was recommended by a person on a FB group.
But UHU adhesives appear to be available mostly overseas and not so much in the USA.

Thanks again.

Weld Bond might be worth a try .
FYI

 Product Description

Weldbond is more than just a great glue, it's a universal adhesive that works fast. It will bond everything to anything Weldbond can virtually weld together cement, concrete, bricks, plaster, metal, glass, wood tiles, building panels, and much more.
Non-flammable and non-toxic, Weldbond dries clear. It-s highly water resistant and impervious to petroleum, oil, grease, salt, molds, fungi, alkalis, and weak acids. It will withstand all climactic conditions after curing, is non-staining, and will not brittle with age.

UHU tends to be like Weld Bond. a wee bit brittle. Vibrations tend to break the edges loose. I think Gorilla's flexible formula will provide some level of resistance. In my case everything except the LED panel behind the PLA printed instrument panel is either card stock or Styrene. That FW panel definately looks the part .

Thanks again ScaleAero,

I may be able to find Gorilla glue flexible formula locally.

That makes me wonder if shoe goo would work as well.
