That is the correct plane and the correct pilot. It was an ashtonishing act of bravery in my humble opinion.
Another remarkable detail of that dogfight was that all aircraft involved were designed by Dutchmen ... Koolhoven vs Fokker. In the interbellum they were very competitive and not particularly fond on each other as well.

The usual tactic involved flying only a few meters above the ground, climbing for the final approach, throttling back the engine and making a gliding bombing run, leaving the targeted troops with only the eerie whistling of the wind in the wings' bracing-wires as an indication of the impending attack.

The Night Witches must have been an interesting ready room.
