That's the Lloyd I was looking for! Lloyd C.V Series 46. This machine even had plywood on the wings. The wings are also a very unique shape.

The photos are of Harold Lloyd, Frank Lloyd Wright, and David Lloyd George. I suppose I should have had 5 Lloyds for the C.V.....

• Just over 1,000 built (< 1500)

OK that was fast Paul, yes!

Here are the other clues I was going to use:

• Fowler flaps

• Engines prone to overheat and catch fire

• Evaporative cooling system

• Unusual undercarriage

• Could be considered a four engine design

• Each of the two DB606 “engines” were actually a pair of DB 601s

Quite a few of these made it into service, but the results were disappointing.
