Westland Wyvern is correct!  Good job Fletcher... I didn't even have to get into anymore details that would give it away.

They went through many engine changes through the prototypes with the finaly engine being an Armstrong Siddeley Python turboprop engine, 3,560 hp and only made 127 total.  There is only 1 left in existence today.

Is this your model of the Wyvern?  Stunning, though it looks like a hellishly complicated aircraft to model.  I'd love to see more photos of it.

I'll post a new quiz in the morning.  Initial clue:  WWI (of course)!

No it is not.  I was contemplating on building it though I have a Jim Pepino P39 to build first.  It sure is a unique and rare plane The Wyvern kit and accessories can be ordered from this website though.

Now, here's something you don't see everyday in a model description:

"This model is not  suitable for a heavier engine, the nose is too long and it would need an equal amount of extra weight in the tail."

The P39 is the same way as they both were designed with mid engines behind the pilots and have a shaft running forward.  All the weight was rearward so they have the longer noses to compensate I guess.
