Hi everybody!

I'm a frenchy guy who would like to join the scale models
 familly with your help.
I don't have any experience in building scale models but I
suddenly fell in love for WWII warbirds during a meeting
and this is the reason why I have registered this site.
I've got a kind of experience in rc helicopter.
What is the best way to start building rc scale model?
 I'm interested in a 90 to 110" wing span P40 warhawk. Isn't
 too much difficult to begin?
 Many thks

Hi ymangousta- how about building a kit 1/4 scale Piper Cub from Balsa USA, SIG or somesuch and then converting it to warbird staus? These are easy kits to build and fly and you will gain nice experience in scale building with it.

Regards, Michael
P.S. who is favorite for Le Tour?

Hi ymangousta,
We were just discussing why there are so few French builders on this site the other day. I have just returned home after visiting a model show in Paris, and there are some really really brilliant builders there. It is sad that they do not visit this site.
Anyway, welcome to the best place for scale aircraft on the net. Just by hanging around here and looking at other peoples builds, you will learn so much, and so quickly.

Welcome!!!

What is "kind of experience"? And are you talking about true RC helicopters or the little ones you can buy at toy shops these days?

Forget "scale" for now. The best you can do is first find an RC club near you and talk to the people there. Become member and buy a basic high wing trainer following the advice of your club members. After that first trainer you could maybe build the suggested Piper Cub or buy a low wing trainer.

YES ... way to difficult and risky.

Many thanks gentlemen!

I really appreciate what you have written and the time you
have taken to send me your replies.

I'm sorry Jesper that few frenchies come on this forum.
Maybe it is due to the language barrier.

 Henri,

I'm playing with my toys as you said. I don't use scale
helicopter because it would become too much expensive
for me to use this kind of helicopter during 3D training...
I'm actually in a club an I'm training also with 3D foamies
planes and my old super chipmunk just for fun and keep
 RC sticks handling.

So for now my RC model experience is very far from scale
model one but I hope that in few years I will build
interesting rc planes as most of the members of this forum.

Thk you again for your posts!!

Well, that sounds like enough experience to start a scale model now.   If you fly a Chipmunk already, I don't see why you can't build a warbird.
I was just checking you were not one of the people that say "hey, that model flying seems fun, let's start with a warbird".
