Yes....it's just a minor setback. The only damage was the wire attach point with no wood damage at all.

 Very Nice build!  These are the neatest planes to model 
 aren't they? 
 
 So you built from Behrens plans, what changes (other than 
 the obvious in the pics) have you made? I ordered a set of 
 the same plans, scanned them into my CAD program and 
 am in the process of revising them.  Looking forward to 
 building mine soon.

The main thing I changed was going to a flat bottom airfoil. The plans (as you know) have the scale under cambered or "sport" semi-symmetrical. The only other thing I changed was the spar construction. Instead of using the box spar the entire length, I used and upper and lower spar with webbing between. Was much easier and I think stronger. Everything else was as it was on the plan.  
Below is the maiden story.   
I finally got her to the field ready to maiden. I was a bit apprehensive about the 10-15 mph wind and the fact that it was constantly gusting and shifting from SE to S to SW and back, but gave it a go anyway. She rolled easily to a fairly short take-off, only to have the now SW wind start drifting her to the left. I held her level to gain speed to climb on out, but the wind (and I think torque) started to make her roll left. I applied right aileron but once the wind caught her under the wings, she wouldn't roll back. Now heading due east and only about 10 feet high, she dove onto the asphalt runway. Damage is minor(I think) for such a crash, but I'll need to get in and check everything much better. She is very fixable, I just don't how long it will be. Busted the cowl, landing gear(which I wanted to redo anyway) and broke the wing mounting braces that were made to give way in a hard landing. So not too bad, considering.  
PS....I'll be increasing the aileron throws for the next attempt.

I started my half scale triplane from my own plans. started the thread on rcuniverse til I get going then will put it here too http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9225119/tm.htm
  I am curious how much throw you had for the ailerons as those thinge are pretty decent size wouldnt think you need too much.
  Mines using scale airfoils etc and each capstripped rib came out to 14 grams and cut the box spar mats today to start putting them together and weighed all my wing materials and looks like it will be around 8 lbs for all 3 wings total. Now remembering this is 1/2 scale with like 13.5 ft ws thats pretty dang light weight.

That's what I thought too, Joe. I had them set at minimum with the hardwear at about 3/4". But when the wind gusted up under the wing at that slow of speed, what I had wasn't enough to get her to turn back into the wind. It was more my fault than anything. "Dumb thumbs" between the ears.

 I'm sorry to hear about the attempted maiden.  I'm sure 
 that nerves contributed more than a little.  You will do 
 better next time (at least that's what I tell myself when it 
 happens to me). You have done such a great job already!  
 One thing about a build-it  modeler, rebuilding is no big 
 thing.
 
 Where did you get that great pilot figure?  It looks like he 
 really means business.  
 
 I changed the airfoil on my drawings too.  I'm using a 
 modified NACA and using a box spar as far out as the 
 aileron then switching to a webbed spar.  The upper and 
 lower wings have the option of either a single-piece or a 
 three-piece wing.  I just started the fuselage drawings and 
 am including a working steerable tail skid based on the full-
 size plane.  I feel as if I have already built the wings.  
 Drawing everything out helps so there's no surprises during 
 the actual build.
 
 Did you paint the plane or cover with a finished covering?  
 It looks great.  Keep building at all costs..

 Where are your aileron servos located-which wing?I am building a 1/4 scale version myself.Using Cleveland plans that are blown up rubber band power and leave a little to the builder to work out.I will be locating my aileron servos in the middle wing and using carbon fiber tubes for connections.

I put the wing servos in the bottom wing. It let me hide the wires in the wing as they plug into the fuse.

I'm sorry I missed your post until now. Yeah, she'll build back just fine. It was mostly the gear wires and fairings. It's just I was "done" with the tripe and ready to move to the next......then oops.   The pilot came from Aces of Iron. They have the best I have found, although only busts. My nephew(an art major) painted them(I have 2 others) for me. Here are two of them. I used Solartex over all of it and just painted on that with Bear exterior latex house paint. I even took a small sample of the Solartex down to the store and had them scan the color for touch-ups. I also found the new small sample sizes are great...and flat finish too! The black on the nose is sprayed, all other paint was hand brushed.
