Richard,

Not to appear as if to hijack the original thread, only to explain the reality of the
current circumstances relative to the USA attending the WSC... The CIAM is no
longer permitting private individuals to compete at the WSC. That was permitted
only once, but never again.

This is at the CIAM's discretion.

Attendees must qualify at the CIAM's Team Qualifier and earn one's position on a
USA FAI F4C team. Given a proposal is accepted, there would be the secondary
issue of H, G, and J which I definately want to see expanded to WSC status as
it is a virutal parity to the AMA Sportsman Sport Scale Classes!

These are extremely expensive elements which I am currently contending with in
a proposal. One need only let your imagination run a short distance to appreciate
the complexities of logistical support for an F4C team in Rumania Big Smile Team cost
of travel and transport of planes is managed by the F4C Team Manager, not by
each individual on the team.
.
It all begins with individuals expressing the desire to participate, I have provided
the necessary pathway to express that interest and provide proper information to
participate in a USA FAI F4C Team Qualifier for the 2016 WSC. If individuals are in
any way interested... click here: http://www.scaleaero.com/FAI_Inquiries.htm

Interested?

Yes...I am interested...But purely as an intellectual excercize, at this time...please don't confuse my interest for being "committed". MANY hurdles would have to be successfully traversed to reach the point at which that conversation would be appropriate.

In any case...The good folks of RCSB might make good on threats to HAVE me "committed" long before I could commit to a European vacation.

All the teams were allocated flag carriers who wore miniature championship outfits.

.......

The boys in red t-shirts are my sons , they had been my helpers in the comp . The miniature championships outfit were especially made by my wife for the WC.

In addition to Richards pictures I might add some more:

Another swordfish

Max Merckenschlagers Stinson A1. Here you can see the reason for the ground loop at the t/o of the 2. flight. An the hot tarmac (36°) the wheel lost the air.

After arriving, putting together the airplanes

Last decals are put on before the static. After that Walther Gähwiler from Suisse worked hard on his jet to get under the 15 kg, at the first weighing it weighed 15.000 g. finally it was 14.9 kg

Note the second fuse below the table. Because of a decent warp he made a new fuse.

This model made the maiden while making the first contest flight

....this one is much better organized

G. Rutten from Netherlands: had bad luck; no first flight because of an issue with the air of the retracts; no third flight because one engine did not started
