Here I am flying in the cold.  Believe me, you really need to dress for the occasion here in Iceland -- no short-sleeved t-shirts here!.  The plane I am flying is also pictured, a ARC Cessna 177 Cardinal that I used for spray painting practice.

Here's a picture of my dad teaching me to fly....a few years ago of course .  For those who remember, that's an old Kraft 4-channel radio.  I was flying off water at the time (guess my dad felt the bigger the runway the better!).

And here's a more recent one:

My Wife Emily has a keen eye for the "interesting" while attending modeling events and a good sense of humor....  Not sure if it was my bum or the other guy she was after.

Me at Warbirds over Denver... Great event!

That's my bald head showing through the top of that ZP-47 cowl. I'm doing a take off of Colin Campbell (he's Scots-English, you know). Colin introduced his TFP-47 build that way and, since I'm the easily amused type, I thought I'd do so as well.

See?

If Colin should read this, "Mine is proportionately greater in all dimensions than yours!"

As soon as I finish the planes I was building before I found this site, and rekindled my interests in scale war birds, I'll get started on the ZP47 (it's the 92" version).  That's an RCSB clock I bought a few months ago. That table is also 80 long.

The non-scale planes are just some sport models whose plans I enlarged at a copier. These kits aren't offered any more so I purchased the plans from RCM and cut the bits myself. I was building these and a BT 65" Mustang when I took an intermission from the hobby in the mid eighties. I got back into the hobby by building a Guillows kit a friend gave to me. I remembered very quickly what I liked so much about the hobby and my interests were renewed immediately. The Jug bits were also hand cut from Lone Star wood.
