Unboxing and inspecting all of the new items that just arrived from your shopping spree for the new project.

HOWEVER - once the CC bill comes in .... this drastically drops downward on the list

I'd have to say building.  See what comes forth from a small box of what and what it becomes is simply amazing.  I do love flying but when you have
a lot of hard hours and a lot of money in a project, that first flight or so can be extremely nerve wrecking.  It's not so much fun having to worry about
your precious work turning into a trash pile.

In my mind, building a Flying Scale Airplane is a complete hobby.. Aircraft Designer, Engineer, Mechanic, Pilot, it has it all.

It's a toss up.  Research is big, but I guess it's part of building.

Cheers

The Edit box isn't working for me.

I don't like flying much at all.

I would have to say that I enjoy research and building equally. If you saw the collection of plans and documentation I have gathered over the years, you would think research. On the other hand, even when family and career left me little time, I would pick up a Guillows kit and build it with what spare time I had.

I can tell you the part I absolutely hate...it's all the necessary tasks that you still have to do even with an ARF.  You've got to mount the engine, you've got to setup the tank, and the servos, and the throws, and the batteries, and...
