A friend of Franks recently passed also. Top Gun competitor, Sam Snyder, passed away 1-18-2021 at 0925am. He had colon cancer that had metastasized to his liver. His Funeral was 1-23-2021 at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Tyler, TX. He was a very good friend and will be greatly missed.

Sam was a Texas A&M graduate and graduated from the USN Post Grad
School in Monterey, CA. Retiring as Commanding Officer of EPDOPAC.

Sam's honors earned from Vietnam service through to retirement:

...............................Two Navy Commendation medals with Combat V

...............................Three Air Medals

...............................The Combat Action Ribbon

Sam was a true friend of everyone he met!
