This Nieuport XI is located in the Musée de l’Air. The type first flew in 1915 and over 7000 were built. Bébé (Baby) was the unofficial name due to its small size. This the only original Nieuport XI still in existence. It was build in 1915 and was handed over to the museum in 1919. During restoration in 1987 at the mechanic school in Rochefort, the personal markings of Commandant Rose`s was added. Otherwise 100% original. This walkaround while not the largest we have certainly is one of the most detailed ones. There are some really great pics of the areas all modelers need.

This is an excellent subject to add to your walk-around collection.

So I hadn't really planned on doing much in the way of scale detailing on my N11 but now that there's these great photos I may change my mind.

Thanks Mike

Nice Mike!   Thanks.

I echo what Glenn posted.  I knew this plane existed but I did not have good enough photos for the details.

This plane differs from the Windsock Datafiles for the N-11.  I think this must be a Macchi built Nieuport.
Here there are only 5 rib bays in the area of the ailerons whereas the Windsock Datafiles show 6 bays in the ailerons.
So Glenn, you will have to make that change from my plans for scale competition (if you use chose this subject & color scheme).

I like this one also very much, lots of details I can use in my build. I am not building this specific one so the rib placement is not important for me. And I am not doing any contest so I am free what details to use in my plane

I'm in the same boat as Teus. I'll just use the details off the plane to assist mine. I don't think i'd fully replicate it because there is some pretty cool schemes out there for the N11.

Had built 3 Nieuport 11`s 1/5,1/4 and a 35% all using this museum`s plane as color, markings for documentation. Very pretty plane.
