Hi All,

This is the story of the refurbishment of an already scratch built Westland Lysander at a scale of 1 to 3.7.

A build thread was never done on this wonderful RCSB site nor on any other such site.

She is the Shuttleworth collection SOE spy plane.

More soon.

Ken

Ken,
That thing looks so ungainly and heavy that if
I didn't know it had flown I would have thought
it could never have gotten off the ground.
I wish you had done a build thread...
Hey, I have an idea! Why don't you build another one?

Well, Martin the truth is it flys well but can bite you if you don't stay ahead of her. This is especially true of landing her. She is not a feather light glider but a brute of an aeroplane that when controlled is an excellent mount.

I have often harboured the thought of building another ... you know ... an even better one!

It looks like it might have a high wing loading,
unless that fuselage is not as heavy as it looks.
The gear struts and pants sure are huge!
