Good morning and Merry Christmas
Just finished the build of Marutaka Zero / Type 22, 61 inch.
The model weight 3700 grams (no lead at all for balance).
She has onboard an OS 91 Surpass, hitec digital servos and Robart electric retracts.
For the paint job, I used simple colors from local car shop.
Marks and insignia are customized from flightline Graphics(they did great job)
She hasn't flown yet. Engine trim is needed and with a bit of luck I can go for maiden the first days of 2019.

Super nice job Red! I’m really impressed that it requires no added nose weight for a Zero and especially for a Marutaka kit. Very well done. I have the same kit and hope to get to it someday. If you took build photos along the way how about posting them?

Edit: btw, where’s the muffler?

Many thanks for good words. I will try to post a video from maiden flight when that happens...

Tubig: Marutaka offers great kits and catch very beautifully the warbirds lines. On the other side these kits are a bit heavy as Marutaka use a lot blocks of balsa. So there is a lot of sanding. Try to keep the tail as light as possible practicable and move servos and battery forward.

For exhaust I used the "Turboheader" product. The design was initially for SAITOs and short after expanded for other 4T engines like OS etc. Have a look on the photo below. The design offers a lot of flexibility and you can squeeze the exhaust inside the cowl. In my case the exhaust is not installed as I did some trimming of cowl. What stays out is the last 1/3 of pipe. I try to post one photo when I am back home.
I have some photos also from building but I don't know if this is the correct place to upload.

Interesting, I’ve not seen the “Turboheader” before.

I imagine you can post your photos here since the build is completed and if it’s not in the correct place then one of the moderators can move them to the appropriate place. I, for one, would love to see them.

Nice work.
I remember that Royal kits were a lot of work!
