I Wayne,  How is the PA-18 progressing?  As you can see from my latest post I am still messing
with the sticks.  Email when you can.

Hi Hank.  Things progressing nicely. The cub is in the painting stage and coming along. I'm trying to get her done and flown so I can fly in the 1/8th air force fly in at the end of march. It will be close.

I'm learning to paint with latex house paint, it's a steep curve but I like the results when done right. Now I just have to do it right. You can't see the flaws from this photo but trust me they are there. All fixable but time consuming and in almost every case caused buy me. One thing, paper tape does not like to get wet. If I spray the paint to thick the tape wrinkles up and does not seal allowing the paint to seep under. I have a lot of that to fix and some ragged edges on the paint line. The wings still need paint but they will be white only so no big deal there. I also have a few decals to put on and seal before the gloss top coat goes on. All the paint used so far is flat so the top coat will get a good bite. Hope it all works. I also have to do the openings in the front of the cowl but I figure once I get the layout right 20 minutes with the dremel and done. Still need to get the ignition battery and balance the plane, all the little details before a first flight. So like I said, it will be close.
