September 7th was the first of only two events where the world's only two flying Lancasters joined the ground running example at East Kirkby. Three Lancasters, twelve Merlins and 5000 happy spectators! Lancasters NX611, FM213 and PA474 all together.

The pictures say it all, no need for any more from me.

One Lancaster...

Two Lancasters.....

Three Lancasters........

and a few more..

I saw the Canadian Lanc flying in Sept '07 at Gathering of Mustangs and Legends (GML).  Great sounds and show for the 4 days they flew.  No other airshow can match that week in Columbus, Ohio so I and my attending friends are ruined for life.

Thanks for the photos.  Such a rare sight indeed and may never be again.

"Just Jane"! They are slowly working towards that. They have four airworthy Merlins ready, they are waiting for non-destructive test results, and other smaller parts are being serviced to airworthy and airworthy parts collected. There's a big jig in the hangar for landing gear hydraulic tests, so they are moving forwards as fast as time and cash will allow.
