We had a good time at the Shootout in spite of the small lake in the middle of everything, thank god for crocs!!  I was really suprised that the event seemed to be so jet heavy. I guess I was expecting more early warbirds....  that PT-22 was soo awesome, wanted to get pics of it but he left it on the other side of the fence till almost the end of the day, then poof it was gone... I got to wonder thru "warbird alley" and that was a lot more my style!! Even after a rainout on Saturday our trip was well worth going, there are some very talented builders represented here.

Thanks for saying nice things about my PT22. It was a big job finding somewhere dry to keep it.
I got back today after a smooth journey Orlando-Gatwick, Uk
It was a pleasure meeting people I only ever get to 'see' on RCSB.
A huge thank you to all the modelists who lent us things we can not bring whith us.

Joe Nall was awesome, not a word I use lightly or often. 1,200 pilots. 15,000 visitors.
It rained one day but was soon gone.
I had 3 flights with the PT 22 there.

It is difficult to know where to begin describing Joe Nall. perhaps we can start a thread.
I have LOTS of pictures

Richard, so happy you made it back safe and sound, and was really sorry to have missed you at Nall, but other, more important duties called at that time.

The only word that I find I can use to describe Joe Nall is that it is an EXPERIENCE. !!!!!   You just have to be there to be a part of the atmosphere, camaraderie, and friendship to appreciate the experience.  Not only is it the vastness of the space there, but the vastness of the fellowship that exists within the modeling community.  Everyone is there for the same reasons, because of an interest in modeling, to socialize with new and old friends and to participate.

'Nuff Said

Maybe I will be around in another 5 years that we can get together then.
