Hey everyone! Another new flyer from the Great-White North!

I've been putting off R/C planes all my life (just turned 50!), but finally made the plunge!

Picked up Real Flight sim in the winter, then got a Hanger 9 Alpha 40 AND the P51.

Joined MAAC, a local club, and started flying two weeks ago.

I gotta say,....I've road-raced motorcycles since I was 18, and but my nerves were about the same on my first flight as they were in my first race ! But so far, so good!

Now I wish I HAD started a long time ago!

As an aside, so far everyone I've encountered in the sport has been very helpfull and friendly!

Super Ken - sounds like you got the bug  but good!

Glad you found your way to RCSB - one of the friendliest sites on the internet (maybe the friendliest?)

Welcome Ken,

Better late than never. This is a great hobby. All the good things I've ever learned in life I learned from people in this hobby. All the bad things I learned from ex-wives.

Don

Thanks guys! I hear you Don!

I'm obviously very new to this, but my ultimate goal is to build a scale Albatross DII that will be easily transported, but still decent sized. I'm thinking 40-50" wingspan, but so far no luck finding plans/kits etc.

Any suggestions of where to look?

In the mean time I'm working on improving the look of the Mustang for starters.

Ken.

Ken - take a look at aerodrome RC  - http://www.aerodromerc.com/
They have a DII in a couple of smaller sizes, and a DVa @ 54".  Models are for electric power.  I have the DVa kit and it is a well cut kit (laser cut).

Oh yeah!!

Since I was a kid! I still have the Guillows Albatross DII that I build in high school hanging in my den! Wow, 30 years.

I've been to Rhinebeck 3 times over the years, and have a decent collection of Great War literature, including some that were written during the War.

Gotta go, the girlfriend want to buy more flowers for the garden!

K.

Thanks for the tip! It looks like a good possibility. Quality looks good, product testimonials all seem good.

I am amazed with the amount of R/C product out there. I never would have thought there would be that many Companies/product as I'm finding. It's very inspiring to see how popular this hobby/sport is.
